NEW! Family Lenten Devotional Kits Available
Families are invited to pick up a Family Lenten Devotional Kit in Fellowship Hall on Sunday, February 8, 11 (Wednesday), or 15 (next Sunday). These devotionals will guide families through the season of Lent by focusing on Jesus in the wilderness, helping children and adults reflect on prayer, trust in God, and preparing our hearts for Easter. Each kit includes simple, meaningful activities designed to encourage conversation and faith at home.
Devotional kits are available for two age groups: Elementary and Middle & High School, so families can choose the one that best fits their children.
We hope these resources will support your family’s Lenten journey together.
THIS SUNDAY! Youth “Souper Bowl” Soup Sale
Celebrate Souper Bowl Sunday with a youth-led soup sale benefiting the Pittsford Food Cupboard. All proceeds will be donated. Soup will be $5 a cup or $10 a quart. We need youth to help with making soup, packaging, and selling—and everyone is welcome to bring a pot of their favorite soup to be sold. You can also help the Food Cupboard by dropping off food. Support our youth and a great local cause!
Naomi Circle Reminder
Naomi Circle will NOT be meeting in February! We will be back on schedule on March 16. In the meantime, enjoy winter’s quiet beauty.
NEW! Anthony Circle
Anthony Circle will gather at the church on Tuesday, February 10, for Stone Soup and a movie. Arrive at church at 10:30 am to start a kettle of Stone Soup. Bring a vegetable (canned, frozen, or fresh) to add to our pot and let's see how it turns out! While our soup is cooking, we will enjoy the 1981 movie The Four Seasons with Alan Alda and Carol Burnett. To RSVP or for more information reach out to Linda B.
Valentine’s Luncheon for Widows
The 10th Annual Valentine’s Luncheon for Widows will be held Saturday, February 14, from 12-2 pm. All widowed church members and friends are welcome and encouraged to attend. Please RSVP to Deb M. or the church office at 585-586-5688 by February 11. We hope you will join us for this annual tradition that spreads the love of Christ to all—attendees and volunteers alike!
Presbyterian Women
On Sunday, January 18, we celebrated Presbyterian Women’s Sunday. We also received our Second Mile Giving Campaign funding, which helps us fund our many mission projects in the community. If you haven’t already, please consider mailing a check to the church office, giving online, or putting a donation in the offering plate marked “PW” to help support our important work.
Our next PW meeting will be on February 18 at 10 am and all women are welcome to attend. We will be discussing and planning this year’s financial support to organizations that support women and children. Also, please consider attending one of our Presbyterian Women-led groups. For more information, email the church at connect@pittsfordpres.org.
NEW! Phishing Email and Scams
We want to let everyone know that there’s been an increase in phishing emails circulating lately. Some folks are receiving messages about purchasing gift cards, others are getting emails with links to join gatherings, and some are being asked to share directory or contact information.
Please take a moment to slow down and check the email address the message is coming from. Many of these emails look convincing but aren’t from who they claim to be. If something feels off, trust your instincts.
A few important reminders:
Do not respond to suspicious emails
Do not click on any links or download attachments
Report the message as phishing in your email system
When in doubt, reach out to confirm before taking action
Staying alert helps protect you and your congregation. Thanks for helping keep our shared systems safe!
